Wrapping up…

This view of the Denver skyline across the placid Sloan’s Lake was taken on a bike ride (my last one in Denver, as my bike is being packed up for shipping). I looked longingly at the calm surface and hoped that this would reflect my state of being sometime soon.

As it is, I must report that it’s been a chaotic time, these last few weeks. I am still in disbelief that my townhome did not sell, but after 30 days, I took it off the market. To sell later? To rent now? I am still deliberating.

Evidently, in March, I could have sold it in 2 minutes; by May, it was a buyer’s market, with a glut of inventory for a buyer to choose from, and, apparently,  they were in no hurry to do just that.  Rising interest rates certainly did not help.

A few weeks ago, I decided that I would concentrate on my Denver property and abandon the idea of buying a condo in Boulder. I thought that would make life easier, which it would have, if only the Denver market had not crashed!

So, many details remain to be taken care of before I take off for France; I moved my flight back to July 8, even, to give myself a couple extra days to take care of it all.

As a career project manager, I can only say that I am glad I have a certain amount of experience in that realm, as this is one of the largest projects I have ever attempted to pull off. Thank goodness for spreadsheets!

Next update will be mid-July, hopefully, from France!
